Project brief

Pontoon Cocktails manufacture and supply ready-mixed cocktails to the hospitality trade for clients such as Wagamamas, The Ivy and Revolucion de Cuba. As their trade business had shut down as a result of the pandemic, they were looking to target direct to consumer with a multi-vendor platform selling these cocktails on the behalf of these premium brands, for customers to enjoy at home – this was to be called Cocktail Market.

The cocktails were to be brand specific, enabling consumers to purchase and enjoy their favourite hand-crafted restaurant/bar cocktails at home. Cocktail Market required a complete brand identity, transactional website and full marketing strategy and implementation.



Design & functionality

We created a monotone brand, using a cocktail as a subtle part of the design. This allowed the individual brands to stand out against the black and white background. A custom icon set was created to be used across their marketing and we also worked on the packaging for the delivery service, using the individual bottle labels for the brands being sold.

The website was theme-based, but with animated gifs, and creative design to showcase the range of delicious drinks. We included a delivery date picker and set up the ability to pick and choose a box of favourites.



Ongoing marketing

We implemented a full marketing strategy to emcompass organic SEO, paid Google display, text and shopping ads, Facebook and Instagram advertising, plus email marketing. We were able to track the success of the campaigns which allowed us to adjust the advertising spend and relevant mediums to sustain the business into its second year.
