Room 356

Project brief

Mother-daughter duo, Cassie and Bev, opened Room 356 in October 2014 with a vision to create a homeware store that works closely with independent designers and makers offering a collection of handmade goods and showcasing their appreciation and wish to support smaller businesses and creatives.

They'd gone through a number of different website platforms and agencies, but never found anything they could easily manage or that allowed them the flexibility to grow.

Creation & additional support

We recommended Shopify to their team and took time to demonstrate the benefits including the ease of management of the admin. We then replatformed them from WordPress, migrating across all orders, customers products and collections before redesigning and building their store on a suitable theme.

Room 356 has a paired-back minimal aesthetic which we incorporated into the new design. We utilised the menus on the selected theme to break up the product lines in to smaller collections providing the customer with the same focused and intimate feel and experience they would receive in store.

After their new store was launched we continued to provide ongoing support on an ad-hoc basis, plus are now managing their paid ads through Google Search and Shopping.

“Very professional, friendly and efficient. We couldn't be happier with our website and the services carried out. I would advise anyone in e-commerce to use Shopify and an excellent Shopify Partner - Blue Horizons - to design the site.”
